About the role

The Advanced Effector Guidance Systems (AEGS) Department at Raytheon is seeking a Senior Navigation/IMU Engineer to join our team. This role involves working with experienced engineers to select and integrate IMUs into navigation subsystems, analyzing IMU performance data, and collaborating with various departments to develop and document IMU requirements and test plans.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting programs with IMU selection, testing, and analysis of IMU performance
  • Interface with IMU suppliers to ensure commitments are met
  • Developing and documenting IMU requirements and test plans
  • Conducting peer reviews of designs as a subject matter expert
  • Presenting to peers, management, and government customers
  • Conducting root-cause failure investigations
  • Working on broad assignments within an Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment
  • Communicating effectively, both written and orally, providing status updates to leadership and customers

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • Advanced degree in a related field may substitute for additional years of experience (Master’s = 2 years, Ph.D. = 4 years)
  • Experience with Electrical Engineering fundamentals, subsystems, and systems engineering
  • Experience selecting IMUs for products
  • Background in missile systems, guidance, and navigation components
  • Experience with IMU types (Fiber Optic gyros, Ring Laser Gyros, MEMs gyros, mechanical and solid state accelerometers)
  • Experience with missiles or similar systems
  • Ability to drive suppliers in meeting commitments
  • Knowledge of DOD Hardware development process
  • Practical experience in all phases of the product

Pay

$86,800 - $165,200 annually

Schedule

Full-time, 40 hours per week
