Senior Mooring Engineer

Duties

  • Engineering Design
    • Execute detailed mooring design and engineering analyses to meet project and regulatory requirements
    • Perform related in-office and offshore engineering tasks
    • Develop and review engineering deliverables and project documentation
    • Perform rigging calculations and prepare equipment lists
    • Develop and review installation concepts, procedures, and engineering deliverables with consideration of technical, commercial, and QHSE factors
  • Offshore Execution/Support
    • Support offshore personnel during execution activities
    • Provide offshore supervision and prepare execution and as‑built reporting
    • Define installation vessel requirements and evaluate candidate vessels
  • Leadership & Interfaces
    • Provide oversight, direction, and mentoring to less experienced engineers
    • Interface with clients, vessel owners, and offshore teams
    • Support offshore execution, including installation, recovery, and disconnect operations
  • Commercial & QHSE Support
    • Support QHSE assurance practices
    • Support proposal development and technical sales efforts, including methodologies, presentations, and bid-phase technical input

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master degrees in Ocean Engineering, Naval Architecture, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
  • 5–10+ years of relevant experience in offshore or marine engineering
  • Strong understanding of offshore and marine operations, including mooring system design and installation practices
  • Strong technical, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to plan, organize, and manage work effectively in a project environment
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering and offshore operations teams
  • Working knowledge of QHSE standards and offshore execution requirements
  • Ability to contribute technical input to proposal development and bid activities
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship (U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident)
  • Ability to perform office-based and offshore duties, including standing, walking, bending, reaching, and handling equipment as required during offshore activities
