Responsibilities
- Provide hardware and software research, design, development, integration, installation, troubleshooting, testing and documentation to support unmanned systems technology development.
- Sustain the evaluation of component or system capability to meet design and interoperability requirements defined by the program.
- Support the development of testbeds for bench testing of hardware and software.
- Support the tuning and optimization of closed-loop control algorithms.
- Support the development of machine user interfaces for control and configuration of systems.
- Support draft reports on component/system design and evaluations.
- Support the development of AutoCAD drawings of system architectures and designs to include schematics, connections and interfaces, and material cut sheets.
- Afford assistance with instrumentation, monitoring, and control of complex electro-mechanical mechanisms and systems.
- Support the development of closed and open-loop control applications.
- Support model development, tests, experiments, and demonstrations of autonomous and automated vessel control systems.
- Afford assistance in conducting operations, troubleshooting, assessments, data collection and storage, installation and removal, verification, validation, and certification of unmanned and autonomous systems.
- Support Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programming to include Ladder Logic, Function Block, and Structured Text methods.
- Support the design, engineering, development, procurement, and management of unmanned systems hardware, firmware, and software, including perception and navigation systems, Central Processing Unit (CPU), network switches, and communications equipment.
Requirements
- 5 years of experience directly related to modeling and simulation of autonomous systems.
- Knowledge of National Electrical Manufacturer Association (NEMA) and Ingress Protection (IP) requirements for electronics operating in harsh and/or marine environments.
- 1 year of experience working with software development teams in an Agile environment.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in an Engineering, Math, Physical Sciences, and/or Computer Science field.
