About the role
This is an opportunity to join the Non-Kinetic Effects Business Area within the Defense Sector as a cleared Senior Model-Based Systems Engineer in our Arlington, VA office. You will support multiple DoD programs by developing cutting-edge technology to protect warfighters, focusing on requirements and design architecture analysis, MBSE model development, mentoring junior engineers, and assisting technical leadership with briefing materials.
Responsibilities
- Use MBSE methodologies and tools to develop system architectures for new programs and integrate Leidos capabilities into test or fielded hardware.
- Assist the Solution Architect (SA) or Primary Investigator (PI) in aligning solution architecture with customer requirements, with opportunities for customer interaction and growth into an SA or PI role.
- Exercise existing MBSE tools and models while creating new ones to represent emerging systems, using tools like NoMagic CSM to capture, decompose, and trace system-level requirements.
- Analyze, define, and refine architectures and interfaces, developing system structure and behavior.
- Collaborate with government stakeholders, software, test, mechanical, and electrical teams.
- Mentor junior team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field with 8+ years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree with 6+ years of experience in systems engineering, software engineering, test engineering, or a related field.
- Must be a U.S. citizen with an active Secret clearance and the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
- Experience working in a Systems Integration Lab (SIL) environment.
- Experience with SysML, preferably using Cameo/MagicDraw.
- Strong desire to grow and learn new technologies.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally, in both one-on-one and small group settings.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Must be able to work on-site in Arlington, VA.
Qualifications
- Active Top Secret clearance.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies, preferably Scrum or Kanban.
- Experience with Atlassian tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and Bitbucket.
- OCSMP (OMG Certification for Systems Modeling Professionals).
- Experience with executable SysML simulation capabilities and scripting languages.
- Experience with MBSE methodologies such as MagicGrid.
- Understanding of military Concepts of Operations (CONOPS).
- Experience leading other systems engineers.
- Experience in Non-Kinetic Effects (NKE) or Electronic Warfare.
Pay
Pay Range: $107,900.00 - $195,050.00. The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline and not a guarantee of compensation. Additional factors considered include job responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, internal equity, market data, and applicable bargaining agreements.
