Senior Mobile Developer
About the role
You'll be the founding mobile engineer on a new Growth team—a cross-functional squad owning the full customer funnel, from first consideration through purchase, subscription, engagement, and referral. You'll also be the first R&D engineer based at our US site, hybrid, with your manager and the rest of the team in a different time zone. We're looking for someone who holds context, makes decisions, unblocks themselves, and knows when a question is worth asking rather than waiting on a sync.
Responsibilities
- Build and ship features end-to-end across iOS and Android—paywalls, onboarding, subscription flows, in-app messaging, referral mechanics—working at every layer of the client stack with backend, product, design, and QA.
- Build the client side of how we measure: feature flags, experiment assignment, event instrumentation—every bet the team makes gets evaluated on data.
- Review code, evaluate implementations, and give feedback that raises the bar.
- Work with Kotlin Multiplatform and Compose for iOS—we're already building with it, and we'd love to talk if you have experience with KMP or want to grow into it.
Requirements
- 5+ years building production mobile apps, on both iOS and Android.
- Strong Kotlin and Swift.
- Production experience with Jetpack Compose and/or SwiftUI.
- Experience owning a project end-to-end and shipping it.
- Solid grounding in OOP, concurrency, and clean architecture.
- Real care about UX, testing, and code quality.
- Kotlin Multiplatform experience is an advantage.
Benefits
- Hybrid in-office schedule (3 days per week in NYC).
- Remote work from home month in August.
- Flexible PTO (we trust you to take the time you need).
- Equity options so you can share in our growth.
- Paid parental leave for all new parents.
- Employee discounts on Nanit products.
- Work from home stipend.
- Monthly team events.
Pay
Salary Range: $160K to $200K base salary + equity and benefits. The base pay is one component of Nanit's total compensation package, which also includes access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, and basic life insurance. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we'll consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.
