Senior MLOps Engineer - Artificial Intelligence (up to $290k)
About the Role
Bloomberg's Engineering AI department has 400+ practitioners building search, discovery, and workflow products on top of transformers, LLMs, gradient boosted decision trees, and dense vector databases. The team has been shipping production AI since 2009, processing structured and unstructured financial data at a scale that covers over 35 million instruments across every asset class. They're growing the group and need a Senior MLOps Engineer to own the tooling and infrastructure that keeps this model development lifecycle reliable, fast, and observable.
What They're Looking For
- You have 4+ years of professional experience and are a strong Python developer who has worked hands-on in production ML environments, not just experimentation notebooks.
- You've operated or built ML infrastructure using cloud-native tooling like Kubernetes and Argo Workflows, and you're comfortable defining and enforcing SLAs around latency, throughput, and resource consumption.
- You have working knowledge of ML frameworks such as PyTorch, ONNX, or DeepSpeed, and you understand the operational demands of training and serving models at scale.
- You've worked with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and can reason about infrastructure decisions across compute, storage, and networking.
- You bring solid CS fundamentals — data structures, algorithms, system design — and you've consistently delivered production-quality code alongside ML and software engineering teams.
