Job Summary
We are seeking a Lead Automation Engineer to help scale our foundry for protein engineering in our Lausanne, Switzerland office. The ideal candidate will design and implement end-to-end automated workcells, optimize task scheduling, collaborate with biology and ML/Data teams, and manage complex biological workflows.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement end-to-end automated workcells for protein engineering
- Optimize and maintain efficient task scheduling and system orchestration
- Ensure smooth I/O integration with various lab equipment such as liquid handlers, robotic arms, and plate readers
- Collaborate with Biology and ML/Data teams to implement new protocols and assays
- Manage complex biological workflows within our data infrastructure
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field
- Experience with laboratory automation and robotics
- Strong understanding of laboratory equipment and their integration
- Proficiency in Python and/or other programming languages relevant to automation
- Experience with system orchestration and task scheduling
- Excellent collaboration skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
Qualifications
- Proven track record of successful project management
- Experience with machine learning and data analysis
- Knowledge of laboratory informatics and data management
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
