Responsibilities
- Engage mission customers and internal stakeholders to understand objectives, constraints, workflows, data, security context, and success criteria;
- Translate ambiguous needs into clear technical requirements and solution concepts;
- Develop and document solution architectures that map mission needs to Mission Computing platforms, access patterns, secure compute environments, data flows, developer tooling, policies, and system-design options;
- Produce actionable implementation guidance, descriptive backlog entries, architecture artifacts, decision records, and delivery roadmaps for platform, infrastructure, capability, and service teams;
- Independently evaluate solution alternatives and technical tradeoffs using multiple sources of information; identify risks, dependencies, gaps, and practical paths forward;
- Support and improve front-door, demand-discovery, onboarding, consulting, and feedback processes; identify recurring customer patterns and share insights that improve services and adoption pathways;
- Serve as a trusted technical partner to mission teams by helping users discover and navigate approved capabilities, access processes, constraints, and support models; communicate complex concepts and build consensus among peers and stakeholders;
- Collaborate with platform teams, laboratories, Enterprise Technology, Information Security Services, software, data, and systems engineering communities, and technical leadership; lead defined technical tasks or small efforts and provide knowledge transfer and informal guidance as appropriate.
Qualifications
- Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with relevant experience who can immediately contribute at this job step; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
- Experience applying solution architecture, systems architecture, requirements analysis, mission needs translation, platform integration, secure computing, access patterns, data workflows, cloud or hybrid platforms, developer tooling, mission computing, or related technical practices.
- Experience engaging customers or mission stakeholders to understand needs and independently translate them into solution concepts, architecture products, implementation guidance, backlog entries, or delivery roadmaps.
- Experience evaluating technical options and tradeoffs, analyzing information from multiple sources, and identifying risks, dependencies, and practical solutions to complex problems.
- Ability to communicate complex technical information, build consensus, and collaborate with technical users, project leaders, platform teams, Enterprise Technology partners, security or compliance stakeholders, and senior leadership; ability to lead defined tasks or small technical efforts as needed.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI U.S Government issued Security Clearance within one year of hire.
- Ability to work a hybrid schedule with a minimum of 3 days per week on-site in McLean, VA; Bedford, MA; Colorado Springs, CO; San Diego, CA; Omaha, NE; Ft. Meade, MD; Charlottesville, VA; or Los Angeles, CA and travel up to 5%.
