Senior Mining Engineer / Project Manager

About the role

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) is seeking a Senior Mining Engineer to join our dynamic team in Phoenix, AZ. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of strong consulting and business development skills, combined with a robust technical background, to foster and expand our network of client relationships in the Mining industry.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects and project teams to navigate the complex regulatory landscape of mining
• Help clients secure permits and complete projects efficiently
• Conduct assessments, investigations, conceptual design, and permitting
• Create and review permit applications and engineering plan submittals
• Develop and execute business development strategies for mining and quarry clients
• Mentor junior staff, teaching them about field data collection, engineering, environmental design, and regulatory criteria

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mining Engineering
• At least 7+ years of experience in managing infrastructure design, civil engineering, permitting, and environmental compliance activities for mining companies in the southwestern U.S.
• Working knowledge of state and federal environmental laws and regulations relevant to aggregate and hardrock mining
• Experience working with regulatory agency personnel in the southwestern U.S.
• Demonstrated success in developing and executing mining/quarry business development strategies
