Primary Function
The Senior Manufacturing Information (MI) Systems Engineer is responsible for maintaining product line engineering and manufacturing systems and recommending/implementing corrective actions to drive quality improvement. This includes defining requirements, acceptance testing, scheduling of training and rollout, documenting specific plant processes, and first level support of issues.
Essential Functions
- Deploying and supporting Front End Engineering systems for the assigned product line.
- Support the development of product line specific training documentation on their use of the engineering software tools and processes.
- Manage MI System issues tickets through individual contribution and coordination of other Eaton resources.
- Lead the maintenance and improvement of systems (Bid Manager, Mi Manager, POM, etc.) to meet the needs of all stakeholders, inclusive of product line personnel, plant personnel, PMO and NAS.
- Provide a focal point for the manufacturing plants to address issues relating to front end operating systems and related practices.
- Gather requests for system enhancements and communicate those to the appropriate development manager.
- Be available for after-hours and weekend support.
- Participate in product line meetings on Front End Systems projects and continuous improvement activities, driving best practices and knowledge sharing across the various teams (engineering, design and systems).
- Maintain Front End Systems turnback/enhancement database (SharePoint tickets) and related Change Management processes, coordinating priorities with various stakeholders and team members.
- Support defect resolution for ServiceNow (SNOW) tickets through error recreation and documentation through interactions with product line engineering teams, systems developers and IT developers.
Qualifications
- Required (Basic): Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or Information Technology field from an accredited institution, Three (3) years of applicable experience with engineered-to-order (ETO) products and their associated configuration tools. Authorized to work in the US without Company Sponsorship now and within the future.
- Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given toward candidates with extensive experience in Eaton’s ETO software tools including, but not limited to: Bid Manager, MI Manager, Design Automation, DCMS, Plant Order Manager, Pick Work Bench, etc.
Skills
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficient use of Eaton’s ETO software systems and AutoCAD.
- Apply object oriented programming language such as VB.Net
- Management and development of databases.
