Primary Responsibilities

  • Provides a diversified range of technical services to our internal and external customers supporting the attainment of Company and division goals.
  • Makes disposition of referred, non-conforming and off-standard material, including but not limited to RMRs and customer claims.
  • Demonstrates the ability to provide metallurgical process support to production processes.
  • Demonstrates willingness to solve problems in a Titanium manufacturing environment where both data analysis and metallurgical knowledge is required.
  • Provides training and education to customers.
  • Supports, leads, and guides peers, customers, and managers in key projects.
  • Applies statistical methods to solve problems and design experiments.
  • Affords assistance in the use of SPC, six-sigma and/or BPI tools to detect project inefficiencies.
  • Performs all other duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field required.
  • 4+ years relevant experience required.

Preferred

  • Business/Functional Expertise: Uses best practices and knowledge of internal/external business issues to improve processes, products or services in own function.
  • Project Management: Effectively manages small projects or sub-teams, including coordination of resources outside of own area.
  • Financial Management: Monitors and controls costs within own work and may manage costs for small projects or areas.
  • Specialized knowledge of metallurgical principles, standards, methods and practices.
  • Specialized knowledge of metallurgical and production equipment.
  • Awareness of newest and latest technologies available.
  • Understanding of the application of statistics, six sigma and BPI practices.
  • Solves moderately complex problems; takes a new perspective on existing solutions.
  • Willingness to use data to support hypothesis and think outside of the box when solving problems.
