Senior Merchant - Swimwear & Apparel

Temporary full-time hybrid role based in Reynoldsburg, OH (3 days onsite per week). Estimated duration: 3 months. Hourly rate: $30.00–$35.00.

About the role

Management-level position responsible for merchandising and buying of swimwear and apparel product lines for the world’s largest intimates specialty retailer, offering modern, fashion-inspired collections including bras, panties, lingerie, casual sleepwear, swim, athleisure, prestige fragrances, and body care.

Responsibilities

• Develop assortment plans, including price points and space allocation for products.
• Merchandise and buy assigned product lines.
• Ensure product development follows the line plan and production calendar.
• Collaborate with manufacturing on vendors, calendar, and costing strategies.
• Participate in ad campaigns and merchandise presentations.
• Engage in the patterning process.
• Track competitive intelligence and assess fashion trends.
• Partner with other functions to manage inventory.
• Analyze sales data to identify opportunities for increased sales, improved margins, inventory management, and reduced markdowns.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of merchandising experience.
• 5–7 years of senior merchant/buyer or equivalent experience.
• 5–7 years of experience in decision-making and leading teams.
• 5–7 years of experience with vendor relationships, costing strategies, and production calendars.
• 2–4 years of retail or fashion industry experience.
• Confident decision-making and ability to handle complex issues.
• Proven ability to work independently and as a collaborative team player.
• Self-starter with strong leadership skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
