Responsibilities

  • Oversight and management of all day-to-day MEP job site activities
  • Directing field personnel according to the project plan and Suffolk supervisory principles
  • Communicating issues, events, performance, and progress daily to the Project Manager
  • Promptly reporting any problems to the Project Manager for cost-effective solutions
  • Establishing effective working relationships with clients and Suffolk team members
  • Requesting advice and assistance from the General Superintendent on matters pertaining to materials, sequencing, scheduling, and personnel
  • Participating in Project Start-Up/Turnover Meetings
  • Assisting in formulating and implementing construction schedules in the field
  • Implementing the Project Baseline Schedule based on project contracts and subcontractor input
  • Maintaining the schedule and ensuring work is consistent with the contract and meets or exceeds client expectations
  • Updating the Project Schedule monthly
  • Providing progress reports with a two-week look-ahead of schedule to the Project Manager and field staff
  • Ensuring OSHA safety compliance
  • Reviewing safety reports and injury data to assess safety performance on assigned projects
  • Communicating clear expectations for safety to project teams
  • Performing safety inspections using predictive solutions software
  • Adhering to all Suffolk Safety program requirements
  • Managing subcontractor performance to quality and ethical standards
  • Organizing documentation of the job site for easy access and review
  • Maintaining the quality and condition of all material deliveries
  • Maintaining required safety reporting and all other required files to Suffolk standards
  • Maintaining as-built working drawings and the current drawing log and revision log, communicating this to the subcontractors
  • Managing subcontractor closeout, transfer of utilities, owner training, work list, and punch list

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable discipline and experience relative to project size/scope
  • 4+ years of experience in related construction fields
  • The ability to manage and embrace change
