Senior Medical Writer (Publications)

About the role

Red Nucleus is hiring an experienced medical writer on our Medical Publications team. This is a hybrid role for candidates within commuting distance of our Yardley, PA, San Francisco, or Boston offices. Remote opportunities are considered for candidates outside these locations based on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Researching, writing, and editing manuscripts, abstracts, slide presentations, posters, and other deliverables
  • Collaborating on client projects that are highly visible and involve inspiring pharmaceutical products and technologies within the medical field
  • Working with internal team members to achieve goals regarding content development
  • Delivering work by designated deadlines and understanding the project development process
  • Working well in a team environment (onsite and remote)
  • Absorbing the appropriate time to ask for supervisor assistance
  • Understanding various aspects of preclinical and clinical drug development
  • Exhibiting knowledge of the components of a well-written piece of communication, across a range of deliverables
  • Saving all versions of a deliverable to the team file according to standardized file naming criteria
  • Reviewing study data and distilling into thorough and well-written deliverables
  • Displaying working knowledge of good publication practices
  • Working with internal team in a respectful and productive manner

Requirements

  • MD, PhD in the life sciences, or PharmD required
  • 4 years of experience writing peer-reviewed publications, congress abstracts, posters, and slide decks in an agency setting
  • Ability to independently write and edit scientific manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and training materials
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to effectively collaborate in a virtual setting
  • Outstanding organizational/time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Understanding of the AMA writing style
  • Team player with a detail-oriented work ethic

Qualifications

Understanding and familiarity with most current AMA style
Ability to understand and properly determine accuracy of scientific information and data in a variety of biological fields
