Senior Medical School Admissions Consultant
About the role
We are looking for a Senior Medical School Admissions Consultant who is an experienced physician with a deep understanding of the medical school admissions process. The role involves working with prospective medical school candidates, helping them identify opportunities to build their profile and draft compelling medical school application documents. Responsibilities include managing relationships with applicants and families, providing strategic and tactical guidance on medical school selection, essays, resumes, recommendations, interviews, and the overall medical school admissions process. Additionally, the consultant will support students with project planning, application timeline management, and progress tracking through internal organizational tools. The role requires staying up-to-date on the medical school admissions process and programs to advise prospective and existing clients on appropriate school selection and the nuances of applying to medical school.
Qualifications
- Admissions Committee Experience: Have served on a medical school admissions committee or admissions board with experience reviewing applications and making acceptance and rejection decisions, providing insights into the medical school selection process
- Completed an MD or DO degree
- 5–7 years of experience in education, coaching, tutoring, and/or medical school admissions consulting
- A passion for coaching
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Strong English reading, writing, and editing skills, particularly for medical school essays and personal statements
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Expertise in project management and applicant tracking
