About the role

The position is a 60% FTE, night shift role, working 24 hours per week (3 x 8-hour shifts) from Sunday through Thursday, with rotating weekends and holidays. The pay range for this position may include a sign-on bonus of up to $6,000 for a Senior Medical Lab Technician or $7,200 for a Medical Technologist, pro-rated based on FTE. Additional compensation may include evening and night shift differentials, weekend differentials, and relocation assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform testing in the clinical laboratories (any complexity).
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting, maintenance, and problem resolution.
  • Demonstrate strong decision-making skills, ability to work independently, and the ability to take on teaching/training responsibilities as needed.
  • Work as an effective team member as demonstrated by good relations with physicians, clinic staff, and co-workers.

Requirements

Education: A minimum of an Associate degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology, or education and training equivalent to an associate degree including 60 semester hours, which includes either 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses or 24 semester hours of science courses. A Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology is preferred, with a minimum of 60 semester hours or equivalent, including either 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses or 24 semester hours of science courses (6 chemistry, 6 biology, and 12 chemistry, biology, medical laboratory technology in any combination).

Qualifications

Experience: A minimum of one (1) year of experience performing moderate and some high complexity testing in a clinical laboratory and successful completion of competency assessment, or two (2) years in a clinical laboratory for a Medical Technologist position.

Skills

Knowledge of medical laboratory techniques and technologies, proficiency in using laboratory equipment, and the ability to work independently and teach/train others are required.
