Position Summary

The Senior Medical Equipment Planner will facilitate medical equipment planning, programming, and design activities, processes, and procedures for capital projects. Responsibilities include leading user meetings, providing recommendations, coordinating equipment mock-ups, and managing planning databases.

Responsibilities

  • Lead user meetings to confirm medical equipment needs, placement, clinical workflow, and infrastructure/space requirements.
  • Provide recommendations on medical equipment to end users based on experience, feasibility, and latest industry technology.
  • Assist Project Manager with project schedules, equipment responsibility matrix, and equipment estimates.
  • Manage planning database and equipment database, ensuring accuracy and updates throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate site-specific drawings, equipment mock-ups, and evaluations with vendors, design integrators, architects/engineers, and the field.
  • Support analysis of RFI documents, change management, and provide guidance to other EQUIP project staff.
  • Establish and maintain good client relationships with various stakeholders.
  • Facilitate and lead medical equipment validation meetings for user sign-off before procurement.
  • Analyze and respond to change requests and document their impact on budget, schedule, and construction.
  • Participate in development committees to improve internal processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical/Clinical Engineering, Healthcare Management, Nursing, Architecture, Engineering preferred or equivalent experience.
  • 10-15+ years of Medical Equipment Planning experience on healthcare and science/technology projects.
  • Expertise in medical equipment needs within a full-service hospital, including Surgical Services, Imaging, Sterile Processing, Radiation Oncology, Clinics, Interventional Radiology/ORs, Emergency Department, Critical Care, Med/Surg departments, and Support Services (Lab, Pharmacy, Respiratory Therapy, Rehab).
  • Knowledge of Project Lifecycle, phases of Design (SD, DD, CD, CA), and scope of work requirements at each phase.
  • Proficiency in manipulating project data to create custom reports and quality checking data for errors.
  • Ability to manage large amounts of data based on medical equipment planning experience.
  • Strong work ethic, self-starter, and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Computer skills including Attainia or related medical equipment planning software, Microsoft Office, and knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, and Revizto.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, decision-making, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to relocate or travel within the United States up to 30% of the time.

Benefits

Salary range for this position is $120,000 - $170,000 depending on experience. Additional benefits may apply.
