Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) and the National Technical Institute for the Deaf (NTID) seek a CMMS Senior Media and Public Relations Specialist to research, develop, report, write, and promote stories that raise RIT/NTID’s global reputation. The role amplifies stories across earned, shared, and owned communication platforms and builds relationships with key internal and external constituents.
Responsibilities
- Writes, reports, and promotes stories and content that support NTID and university strategy, goals, and branding for internal and external media and targeted audiences.
- Cultivates sources and opportunities to enhance NTID’s and the university’s reputation and visibility.
- Responds to media inquiries, builds relationships with outside media, and pitches stories to local, regional, national, and trade outlets.
- Develops an annual plan of work, manages workflow, and assists with special projects as needed.
- Contributes to the university crisis communications plan and recommends strategies for clear, consistent messaging that maintains brand identity.
- Supports NTID and university social media initiatives through content development and posting.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Five years of related experience (equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered).
- Proficiency in American Sign Language or ability to achieve proficiency within three years of hire.

Pay
$59,900.00 - $95,800.00 annual salary range. Compensation is based on scope, experience, education, skills, internal equity, and market considerations.
Schedule
This is a full-time, exempt (salaried) position located on campus.
