Senior Mechanical QA/QC Agent
About the role
Affiliated Engineers, Inc. (AEI) is seeking a Senior Mechanical QA/QC Agent in Texas, Georgia, Wisconsin, Ohio, and Arizona. This role is part of the Mission Critical team and involves resolving quality control challenges, developing and implementing quality control process delivery plans, mentoring, and fostering the development of team members.
Responsibilities
- Resolve quality control challenges and complete tasks assigned, including developing and implementing quality control process delivery plans based on information outlined in the owner’s project requirements, basis of design, design and construction documents, as well as information gathered from users and project partners, field surveys, specifications, shop drawings, and code research.
- Mentor and foster the development of team members with less experience and respond to questions that may arise across multiple site locations.
- Ensure adherence to procedures and best practices during periodic site walks, assist general contractors and their site superintendents with inspections as required, and deliver a daily report detailing completed tasks or inspections.
- Collaborate in a team environment, carry out appropriate follow-through with others, delegate work, give and receive constructive feedback, and maintain a balance between onsite and work-from-home duties.
Requirements
- Technical or associate degree in HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, engineering, or construction management from an accredited technical institution, college, or commensurate design or field experience.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in mechanical service or mechanical equipment testing.
- A minimum of five (5) years in mission critical and a minimum of two (2) years in the hyperscale space.
- Functional knowledge of building systems across disciplines, including HVAC, fire protection, technology, instrumentation and controls, and processes.
- Expertise in state-of-the-art critical systems, including building monitoring systems, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air handlers, RTUs, pumps, and fans.
- Fundamental knowledge of commissioning processes and commissioning process delivery of applicable equipment.
- Fundamental knowledge of construction processes and project delivery models.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of electrical codes, standards, specifications, and shop drawings with the ability to interpret them.
- Proficiency in utilizing applicable technologies, including computer/software, data loggers, and test and measurement equipment.
- Valid driver’s license and state-required vehicle insurance.

Skills
- Procore, CxAlloy, or BIM360 experience is a plus.

Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.
Schedule
Typical schedule is 40 hours per week, with flexibility to accommodate onsite and remote work as needed.
