Compensation
$140,000 – $175,000 plus bonus.
Location
Onsite position in Highlands, TX.
Required Experience and Skills
- 5+ years of experience estimating pipeline construction or facility projects within the oil and gas industry.
- Strong knowledge of pipeline construction methods, welding and manufacturing, compressor/pump stations, and facility tie-ins.
- Experience with Hard Dollar, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, OnScreen Takeoff, Excel.
- Track record preparing estimates from RFQs, P&IDs, isometrics, and client specifications.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for pipeline, facility, and integrity projects.
- Ensure bids reflect field expertise and are competitive and profitable.
- Work with project management, engineering, procurement, and field operations teams to develop cost models.
- Prepare pipeline estimates.
- Prepare cost estimates for assorted projects (oil and gas pipeline construction, gathering systems, tie-ins, compressor stations, pipeline integrity projects).
- Attend pre-bid meetings.
- Review RFQs, technical drawings, and project scopes.
- Evaluate field conditions.
- Utilize estimating tools and databases to build all-inclusive (direct labor, equipment, materials, subcontractor, indirect costs) competitive bids.
- Collaborate with operations.
- Develop bid strategies.
- Participate in estimate reviews.
- Update cost history database (productivity metrics, material pricing) for accuracy.
- Support project handover.
Education and Additional Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience estimating pipeline construction or facility projects within the oil and gas industry.
- Strong knowledge of pipeline construction methods, welding and manufacturing, compressor/pump stations, and facility tie-ins.
- Experience with Hard Dollar, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, OnScreen Takeoff, Excel.
- Track record preparing estimates from RFQs, P&IDs, isometrics, and client specifications.
- Experience with unit rate and lump-sum estimating.
- Prior field experience in pipeline or facility construction is highly desirable.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical field preferred.
