About the role

As a Senior Mechanical Estimator, you will lead estimating and planning efforts for the region, focusing on MEP costs. You will assist throughout the preconstruction process by leading conceptual estimating efforts to produce accurate construction cost budgets and estimates, interpret scope from incomplete or schematic documents, and deliver design phase services across multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, check work, and mentor Estimators and Estimating Engineers.
• Develop and oversee conceptual estimates for assigned projects; support planning and engineering groups in all levels of estimates.
• Lead major estimating efforts and collect/analyze close-out and benchmark data.
• Develop and clarify estimate reports.
• Cultivate strong subcontractor knowledge and relations.
• Present estimating results to clients and stakeholders.
• Demonstrate knowledge of civil, structural, and architectural trades.
• Perform conceptual and detailed estimating.
• Provide value engineering leadership and tracking.
• Drive deadlines and achieve results.
• Master scope review process and estimating software programs, including on-screen take-off.
• Consult with architects and engineers on project parameters.
• Ensure database-pricing updates are completed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related field.
• Eight (8) years of estimating experience in construction or a related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Capability to complete large Construction Management (CM), General Contractor (GC) Construction Management at Risk, Design Build projects, and large complex competitive bid projects.
• Independent sales strengths for presentations and project pursuits.
• History of successful working relationships with internal teams, owners, architects/engineers, and subcontractors.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Dedication to meeting customer expectations and building trust.
• Ability to make sound decisions based on analysis, experience, and judgment.
• Provides advice and solutions to others.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
