Senior Mechanical Engineer (Pipe Stress)*

Responsibilities

• Perform pipe stress analysis and piping design for projects and prepare reports on the findings.
• Coordinate the work of Mechanical Engineers with the balance of a multidisciplinary team throughout the entire project's development.
• Establish client relations and participate in marketing, design, and production meetings regarding mechanical systems.
• Assume the mechanical lead on projects related to pipe stress analysis.
• Participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance.
• Conduct schematic, design development, and contract document work sessions at project sites in conjunction with the Project Manager, Project Architect, and other disciplines.
• Coordinate workload through the entire project development to complete documents on schedule.
• Track the financial aspects of projects and adjust work efforts with the team to ensure completion within the agreed-upon schedule and parameters.
• Work with the Project Manager, Regional Controller, and Regional Director for project reviews with corporate management as needed.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• A minimum of 10 years in mechanical system design of commercial or institutional buildings.
• Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, MS Project, and AutoCAD.
• Demonstrated leadership skills, previous team coordination, and project management experience.
• Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm.
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant in our employee-owned culture.

Preferred

• Master’s degree in Architectural Engineering with Mechanical emphasis.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in pipe stress analysis.
• Experience using Bentley AutoPipe Analysis software.

Pay

The expected compensation range for this position is $119,070 – $195,615, depending on skills, experience, education, and geographical location.
