Senior Mechanical Engineer (Healthcare) | New York, NY
About the role
IMEG is hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team in a brand-new Manhattan office, leading design efforts as a project manager or lead engineer for moderate to complex healthcare projects.
Principal Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical design efforts as a project manager or lead engineer for moderate to complex vertical healthcare building projects
- Provide project direction and technical guidance to internal teams and external consultants
- Deliver engineering solutions and advice to clients to support positive outcomes
- Perform engineering analysis and oversee mechanical system design and implementation
- Cover coordination work across cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations
- Support delivery of larger and high-complexity projects with limited support from senior staff
- Manage work within the project’s monetary budget
- Aid in training and mentoring efforts within the project team
Required Qualifications And Skills
- Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent, required
- Professional Engineer (PE) License required
- 7 years of experience minimum required, 8 preferred, in the building design consulting industry
- Advanced proficiency in design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
- Advanced proficiency in technical and analytical skills including proficiency of principles in thermodynamics, psychrometrics, heat transfer and fluid mechanics relating to mechanical design in HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems
- Strong training, mentoring and leadership skills
- Ability to perform final quality control check in their area of expertise
- Ability to sell work and develop client relationships
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Eagerness to adapt to new challenges
- Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight stays

Pay Range
This position is not eligible for sponsorship. Salary Range: $130,000 – $160,000 Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant.
