Senior Material Planner
About the role
Senior Material Planner located in Waltham, Massachusetts. We are seeking a Data Analyst to support material planning, supplier coordination, and performance reporting across project and inventory activities. Our team is looking for a detail-oriented professional who can turn operational data into clear visibility, helping keep materials moving, risks controlled, and project milestones supported.
Responsibilities
- Manage material planning, supplier communication, ordering support, expediting, tracking, and delivery forecasting for assigned suppliers and projects.
- Build and maintain material status reports, dashboards, and performance metrics covering availability, delivery performance, forecast accuracy, readiness, and quality.
- Partner with Engineering, Project Teams, Inventory Management, Warehousing, Field Material Management, Procurement, and Supplier Performance teams to support execution and issue resolution.
- Monitor supplier commitments, escalate delivery or quality risks, support corrective actions, and provide data for performance reviews and continuous improvement efforts.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, Operations Management, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent utility industry experience in lieu of degree requirements.
3-7 years of experience in materials management, supply chain, procurement, supplier management, engineering support, or utility operations.
Experience supporting capital projects in electric utility, energy, construction, manufacturing, or infrastructure environments, including coordination of suppliers, material deliveries, or inventory planning activities.
Skills
- Advanced proficiency in SAP, including SAP Material Management (MM) processes.
- Proficiency in Ariba procurement and supplier management systems.
- Strong Microsoft Excel capabilities.
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar data visualization tools (preferred).
- Knowledge of dashboard creation, reporting, and data analytics (preferred).
