Senior Material Flow Engineer
About the role
Jabil is seeking an innovative Senior Material Flow Engineer with automation expertise to join our regional deployment team for new and current site optimization. This position will be based onsite at one of our US locations and requires approximately 75% travel within the United States.
Responsibilities
- Analyze existing material flow processes, layouts, and material handling equipment to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and waste.
- Design and develop optimized material flow strategies, including line-side delivery, supermarket design, kitting, and sequencing solutions.
- Utilize simulation software and lean methodologies (e.g., Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Kaizen) to model and validate proposed improvements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Operations, Supply Chain, and IT to implement new material flow systems and processes.
- Lead material flow assessments and improvement projects at manufacturing and distribution sites throughout the United States.
- Develop and implement standard work procedures for material handling, kitting, and line-side replenishment.
- Evaluate and recommend new material handling equipment, automation, and technologies to improve material flow and efficiency.
- Lead continuous improvement projects related to material flow, inventory reduction, and space utilization.
- Provide training and support to operational teams on new material flow processes and tools.
- Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to material flow efficiency, inventory turns, and cost savings.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and Jabil's quality standards in all material flow designs and implementations.
- Travel up to 75% within the United States to support project execution, facility launches, operational assessments, and implementation of material flow best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in material flow engineering, industrial engineering, or supply chain optimization within a manufacturing environment, preferably in electronics manufacturing or a high-volume production setting.
- Proven experience in applying Lean Manufacturing principles (e.g., Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Kaizen, Pull Systems).
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) for facility layout and material flow design.
- Experience with simulation software for material flow analysis (e.g., FlexSim, Arena) is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and develop practical solutions.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.
- Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a plus.
- Leverage Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is an advantage.
- Ability and willingness to travel approximately 75% within the United States, including extended site visits as required to support business objectives.

Pay
The pay range for this role is $126,100 - $227,000. Job-related, non-discriminatory factors used to determine the actual offered rate include qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data, and consideration of internal equity.
