The Department of Ecology is hiring a Senior Market Monitor (Financial Examiner 4) (In-Training) within the Climate Pollution Reduction Program.

About the role

The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring financial markets to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and policies. This role involves conducting market analyses, preparing reports, and providing recommendations to support policy development and enforcement.

Responsibilities

• Monitor financial markets for potential violations of environmental regulations and policies.
• Conduct market analyses to identify trends and patterns that may impact environmental outcomes.
• Prepare detailed reports on findings and make recommendations for policy adjustments or enforcement actions.
• Collaborate with other departments to develop and implement strategies for regulatory compliance.
• Provide expert testimony at public hearings and meetings related to environmental issues.

Requirements

• Master's degree in economics, finance, environmental science, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of relevant work experience in financial analysis, regulatory compliance, or environmental policy.
• Knowledge of financial markets, economic principles, and environmental regulations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Current certification as a Financial Examiner 4 (or equivalent).
• Experience working with government agencies and/or non-profit organizations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data analysis software.

Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary range of $78,468.00 - $116,556.00 annually, along with comprehensive benefits including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
