Senior Manufacturing Environmental Program Integration Lead, Amazon Manufacturing Operations, Transportation Operations

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a talented, strategically-minded, and self-motivated Senior Manufacturing Environmental Program Integration Lead to support AWS Manufacturing, Test, and Operations (MOTO) facilities. The successful candidate will join the AWS Environmental team — an expanding and dynamic team critical to enabling AWS’s global growth while ensuring regulatory compliance and high-level environmental performance of AWS’s manufacturing operations.

About the role

This role sits within the MOTO Environmental organization and is responsible for defining the strategy and owning the execution of every operational system that enables the MOTO Environmental team to function. As the architect and senior owner, you will set the vision for program infrastructure, drive cross-organizational alignment, and ensure the backbone of MOTO’s environmental compliance scales with aggressive growth assumptions. A key emphasis is strategic program ownership through infrastructure development and cross-organizational influence.

Responsibilities

• Leadership, Strategy & Commitment
  • Define and drive the program strategy for MOTO Environmental compliance infrastructure, including multi-year roadmaps for legal registers, EMS configuration, RACI governance, SOP library, and MBR/WBR reporting.
  • Champion environmental program scalability within MOTO, securing investment in systems and playbooks that grow with the organization.
  • Operate independently in ambiguous, high-stakes program environments, defining paths forward when requirements are unclear.
• Infrastructure Development & New Site Activation
  • Develop strategic architecture for scalable environmental compliance infrastructure supporting rapid new site activations, including onboarding playbooks and compliance checklists.
  • Create and maintain repeatable Manufacturing build playbooks covering environmental compliance milestones, permitting sequences, EMS setup, and waste program initialization.
• Compliance Systems & EMS Platform Management
  • Own and manage the Environmental Management System (EMS) integration, including site hierarchy configuration, data field architecture, compliance task setup, and notification management.
  • Manage training record architecture within EMS, configuring curricula, completion tracking, and reporting.
  • Serve as the system administrator and primary point of contact for EMS across the MOTO team.
• SOP Library & Standard Work Documentation
  • Define the structure, scope, and maintenance cadence for the MOTO Environmental SOP library, including waste management procedures and emergency response plans.
  • Ensure SOPs are reviewed, updated for regulatory changes, and versioned for distribution.
• Vendor Qualification & Oversight Programs
  • Develop and maintain MOTO environmental vendor qualification criteria and procurement standards for waste haulers, TSD facilities, auditors, and consultants.
  • Manage vendor qualification and re-qualification processes to ensure compliance with MOTO standards.
• Global Template Development & Regional Coordination
  • Develop and maintain global environmental compliance templates (e.g., emergency response plans, spill protocols) for regional execution.
  • Coordinate with EMEA and APAC teams to ensure templates are regionally adaptable.
• Cross-Functional Integration & Collaboration
  • Drive integration between MOTO Environmental and teams like Manufacturing Operations, Real Estate & Facilities, Legal, Supply Chain, and Sustainability.
  • Interface with Global Environmental Programs to align MOTO infrastructure with enterprise-level systems.
  • Manage program tracking tools (e.g., SmartSheet) for visibility into program status and milestones.
• Performance Evaluation & Reporting
  • Establish systems for monitoring and reporting environmental program performance, including metrics dashboards for leadership.
  • Prepare performance reports and recommendations for senior leadership on a regular cadence.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of increasingly responsible roles in safety and/or environmental programs within manufacturing, production, or service operations.
• Experience in environmental compliance, permitting, waste management, regulatory assessments, and environmental impact evaluations.
• Experience developing and implementing environmental compliance programs for regulated waste, water, and air regulations.
• Experience with varying scenarios of infrastructure builds.
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building cross-functional partnerships and influencing stakeholders without direct authority.
