About the role
The Senior Manufacturing Engineer IV will be supporting a Department of Defense program as the principal program Manufacturing Engineer, responsible for all aspects of production for the assigned program and will be responsible for daily manufacturing and test operations support to ensure technically correct manufacturing and product flow such that quality, OTD and production cost targets are met.
Responsibilities
- Review design drawings for manufacturability ensuring constructive feedback is provided to Design Engineering prior to drawing release.
- Ensure facility can support designs; identifying actions required to improve facility capabilities as required.
- Manage business processes to measure and improve overall production performance, updating and improving departmental procedures as required.
- Utilize key quality metrics & associated quality trends to initiate and deliver improvements that will drive improved overall quality performance.
- Support product failure modes and effects analyses and root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations.
- Support Supplier First Article Inspections, Support Hardware Acceptance, Pre-Ship Reviews and First Article Inspection (FAI) reporting.
- Support internal and external audits, program status, and performance reviews.
- Collaborate with leaders from various functions to assure compliance and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) or relevant discipline from an accredited college/university
- 10+ years of related professional experience in Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations or relevant discipline.
- Experience working to identify, utilize quantitative and qualitative analytical capabilities, and communicate manufacturing process improvements to successfully influence others to effect change in engineering drawing and other requirements documents
- Experience with AS9100, AS9102, ISO 9001
- Develop Manufacturing processes and procedures.
- Design basic tools, shop aids and other simple production tooling.
- Prepare and conduct various reviews, including Manufacturing Readiness Reviews (MRRs), Production Readiness Reviews (PRRs) and Manufacturing Readiness Level Assessments (MRLAs).
Qualifications
- Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Manage and mentor operations personnel while recognizing workloads of self and others, delegating tasks to junior staff and peers as needed
- Must be a self-starter and able to work with limited supervision while using excellent verbal and written communication skills to coordinate initiatives across multi-functional organizations
- Able to travel approximately 25% of the time.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level

Pay
The good faith base salary range $114,431.00 to $157,334.00 at the time of this posting. Where you fall within the range depends on your experience, skills, and location. This range reflects base salary only and does not include benefits or bonus/incentive. This range may be adjusted in the future.
