Scope

This role requires a background in Mil-DoD and aerospace manufacturing, with a focus on mechanical and electro-mechanical components and assemblies. The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing, machining of large metallic components, and electromechanical systems, along with knowledge of casting, machining, and metal finishing. The position involves interpreting Mil-DoD and customer engineering requirements to create manufacturing planning, bills of material (BOM), design tooling/fixtures, and collaborating with manufacturing personnel to improve processes, troubleshoot issues, and reduce time and cost while maintaining product quality and certification.

Responsibilities

  • Support Production to ensure products are built to specifications and engineering documents.
  • Provide feedback to improve product design for ease of manufacturing, cost optimization, and reduced production time.
  • Prepare engineering changes to support manufacturing and quality of parts produced.
  • Identify, design, and deploy tooling to aid in production processes.
  • Ensure standardization and compliance with engineering, customer, and company specifications for production processes.
  • Work directly with company/customer representatives to address product repairs, complaints analysis, and user interface needs.
  • Provide assembler/operator training and contribute to the development of support materials.
  • Review and approve assigned controlled documents (e.g., work instructions, quality specifications, engineering specifications, procedures, and validation protocols).
  • Ensure product documentation complies with Quality System requirements.
  • Support Material Review Board (MRB) activities.
  • Develop and update manufacturing documentation, including Bill of Materials, drawings, technical specifications, route sheets, work instructions, and test procedures.
  • Interact with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, engineering, materials, quality, and vendors.
  • Provide design engineering support for mechanical engineers or product design activities, including components and sub-assemblies design, drafting, tolerancing, and product cost analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering.
  • 10+ years of Manufacturing Engineering experience.
  • Background in Mil-DoD and aerospace manufacturing with emphasis on mechanical and electro-mechanical components and assemblies.
  • CAD experience, preferably in Creo/ProE.
  • Fluent in English (read/write).
  • Knowledge of manufacturing techniques and machinery, including casting, machining, sheet metal fabrication, and metal finishing.
  • Experience in designing jigs and tooling for final product assembly.
  • Experience writing work instructions, manuals, and training materials.
  • Knowledge of fixtures, materials, and metals processing, including heat treatment and coatings for aerospace, automotive, or medical applications.
  • Ability to perform basic measurement and inspection processes.
  • Demonstrated experience in creating Manufacturing Planning for product realization.
  • Experience with MIL-STD documents, reading and interpreting GD&T, and ASME Y14.5.
  • Ability to write engineering reports that include analysis and results.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft products.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on knowledge or experience with HVAC and diesel engine systems.
  • ERP system experience, particularly SAP.

Pay

Salary Range: $120,000 - $155,000 (based on skills, education, and experience).
