About the role

At Alarm.com, we're seeking a Senior Manager, Total Rewards who combines strategic vision with hands-on execution. This role requires someone who is passionate about creating impactful compensation, benefits, and well-being programs.

Responsibilities

  • Own and continuously improve Alarm.com's Total Rewards philosophy, ensuring competitiveness, equity, and alignment with business goals
  • Be the go-to expert on compensation, benefits, and well-being for HR Business Partners, Finance, and senior leadership
  • Build multi-year Total Rewards roadmaps with the VP of HR that support company growth and culture
  • Represent Total Rewards in big-picture initiatives like mergers and acquisitions, system implementations, and organizational change
  • Provide strategic direction for compensation framework, including salary structures, pay bands, and incentive programs
  • Guide annual compensation cycles (merit, bonus, equity) and ensure alignment between HR and Finance
  • Use market benchmarking data to keep pay competitive and grounded in data
  • Make high-stakes compensation decisions, ensuring fairness and consistency with regulations like FLSA and pay equity laws
  • Oversee all employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), FSA/HSA, disability, and more
  • Lead the annual benefits renewal and open enrollment process, including financial modeling, vendor negotiations, and presenting recommendations to leadership
  • Build communication strategies to help employees understand and use their benefits
  • Manage vendor and broker relationships, holding partners accountable to performance standards
  • Champion well-being initiatives that support employees physically, mentally, financially, and socially
  • Oversee a complex leave of absence program spanning 39 U.S. states and Canada
  • Use data to drive decisions, build out a Total Rewards analytics function, and stay ahead of market trends and regulatory changes
  • Develop your team by leading, coaching, and growing a team of benefits and compensation professionals
  • Set clear goals and create real development opportunities for your team members
  • Partner with HR leadership on hiring and resource planning to scale the team alongside the business

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of Total Rewards experience with strong expertise in both compensation and benefits
  • 6+ years leading or managing teams, with a track record of developing talent
  • Hands-on experience managing a self-funded medical/Rx plan, including financial modeling
  • Experience building or significantly evolving compensation frameworks — job architecture, salary structures, incentive design
  • Solid knowledge of key regulations: ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, ACA, FLSA, and pay equity laws
  • Strong analytical skills and advanced Excel proficiency; comfortable turning complex data into clear recommendations for senior audiences
  • A bachelor's degree in HR, Business, Finance, or a related field (advanced degree a plus)
