Senior Manager, Tax
About the role
The Senior Manager Tax supports a dynamic environment where collaboration with Operations, Legal, Technology and Product groups occurs to align Fidelity’s tax reporting and withholding practices with regulatory guidelines and requirements.
Responsibilities
- Provide oversight and guidance to assist Fidelity associates meet the statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Support and enable growth of Fidelity by providing sound tax compliance advice and leadership.
- Anticipate regulatory matters, craft effective supervisory and compliance programs, and implement new rules.
- Evaluate compliance with policies, recommend improvements, provide thought leadership, and support new technology implementations.
Requirements
- At least 4-6 years of tax compliance / regulatory advisory, tax operations, or other relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the tax framework that applies to Fidelity's product offering.
- Experience in the compliance, brokerage, or financial services industry.
- Ability to research and apply tax requirements to existing businesses, new product offerings, and new business ventures.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Skills
- Proven understanding of financial services industry including brokerage business and operations.
- Self-initiating and solutions-oriented personality with good judgement and discretion.
- Desirable MBA or other advanced degree.
- Experience working in the financial services industry in an operational or product tax role.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in tax compliance / regulatory advisory, tax operations, or other relevant experience.
- Knowledge and understanding of tax regulatory environment as well as federal and state rules and regulations applicable to financial services and retirement products.
- Understanding of cost basis, backup withholding, retirement account taxation and withholding, and non-resident alien withholding and information reporting.

Pay
The base salary range for this position is $89,000-$180,000 per year. Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.
Schedule
Fidelity’s Onsite Working Model allows for varying levels of onsite presence depending on the role and location. The transition to a full-time onsite working model is ongoing and evolving as the rollout progresses. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.
