Senior Manager, Systems Engineering - (Onsite)

Role Description

Strategic Defense Solutions is seeking a Senior Manager of Systems Engineering to provide strategic, technical, and people leadership for a systems engineering team responsible for delivering complex, high-reliability mission system solutions to our customers. This role oversees all aspects of the systems lifecycle to ensure program success and alignment with business objectives.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience
• Active and transferable U.S. Government (DoD) Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain an active U.S. Government (DoD) Top Secret Clearance
• U.S. Citizen - U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
• Extensive experience in systems engineering for complex hardware/software systems
• Demonstrated experience managing or leading engineering teams. Strong understanding of system architecture, requirements management, integration, and verification processes
• Experienced across the full systems engineering lifecycle (proposal through sustainment)
• Excellent communication skills with ability to engage executives, customers, and cross-functional stakeholders
• Proven ability to balance technical depth with managerial responsibilities

Qualifications We Prefer

• Active and transferable U.S. Government DoD Top Secret Security Clearance prior to start date
• Experience in defense, aerospace, or similarly regulated industries
• Familiarity with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) methodologies and tools
• Experience with cost planning, workforce forecasting, and talent development
• Demonstrated success developing engineering capabilities and improving processes
