Our client operates within the supply chain and manufacturing industry, focusing on production capacity and material supply planning to meet demand forecasts. They address challenges related to aligning manufacturing capacity and supply constraints with rapidly growing production requirements, helping prevent material shortages, capacity gaps, and production delays.

About the Role

The Senior Manager, Supply Chain Planning leads the development and management of the organization’s Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process. This role aligns demand forecasts with manufacturing capacity and supply constraints, identifies potential mismatches early, and drives hands-on execution to maintain build readiness. The position is instrumental in establishing planning frameworks from the ground up while coordinating closely with Sales, Engineering, Procurement, suppliers, and manufacturing partners to support informed decisions and uninterrupted production.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement rolling demand forecasts and capacity models covering contract manufacturer throughput, equipment constraints, and cell supply
  • Establish and manage recurring planning cadences with clearly defined inputs, outputs, and decision owners
  • Collaborate with Sales and Engineering to maintain demand forecasts and translate them into supply and capacity plans
  • Conduct scenario planning to evaluate the impact of demand acceleration, supplier delays, and other potential disruptions
  • Identify and escalate capacity and supply constraints early while driving cross-functional resolution efforts
  • Manage long-lead cell capacity planning in partnership with the Procurement team
  • Oversee day-to-day materials execution, including tracking material availability and coordinating with suppliers and manufacturing partners
  • Maintain and resolve part shortage lists to minimize production risks
  • Expedite purchase orders and coordinate corrective actions to prevent build disruptions

Requirements

  • Experience building an S&OP or demand-capacity planning process from the ground up, preferably in an early-stage or resource-constrained environment
  • Ability to facilitate alignment among Sales, Engineering, and leadership around shared demand and capacity plans
  • Hands-on experience with materials execution, supplier expediting, and shortage management
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to independently build planning models, tools, and processes
  • Strong cross-functional communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, startup-like environments with evolving processes and priorities
