Senior Manager, Supply Chain

About the role
As Supply Chain Manager, you will plan, organize, and direct production planning, material management, procurement, sterilization, warehousing, and logistics/distribution functions for the plant. You will define goals, establish priorities, and ensure compliance with BD quality systems, policies, and safety regulations while meeting service level objectives and optimizing operations.
Responsibilities
- Own and execute the plant’s monthly S&OP process for capacity management under Global S&OP guidance.
- Issue Master Production Schedules and monitor performance to schedule.
- Run Material Requirement Planning to supply raw materials and components for production.
- Procure materials, products, and services for production, engineering, and process development.
- Manage inventory and storage for raw materials, semi-finished, and finished goods across the plant, suppliers, subcontractors, and distribution centers.
- Collaborate with Finance to manage excess, obsolete, and other inventory as needed.
- Oversee the sterilization department, including capacity planning, scheduling, processing, material handling, and shipping.
- Meet service level targets, report performance metrics, and resolve issues.
- Develop collaboration with the Supply Chain network to ensure seamless information flow.
- Deploy and maintain Supply Chain processes and systems.
- Focus on continuous improvement of material movement and establish KPIs for supply chain planning/forecasting.
- Set annual goals for Plant Supply Chain and direct implementation in alignment with Plant leadership and WW BDMDS Operations.
- Develop and coach team members in alignment with BD values and HR policies.
- Propose and implement initiatives to optimize Supply Chain costs and manage the operating budget.
- Lead procurement savings goals and site strategy for inventory/working capital targets.
- Ensure alignment with Central QA for supplier regulatory requirements.
- Drive ongoing improvement of safety performance for the department and site, promoting a safety-first culture.
- Partner with site operations leaders on production schedules, equipment efficiency, and materials supply to meet demand.
- Provide guidance in the annual budget process, focusing on raw material pricing direction from Global Procurement.
- Support Global Procurement in supplier improvement and problem-solving initiatives.
- Manage logistical movement and control of finished goods, inbound/outbound materials, and inter-plant flows.
- Support Global Transportation strategies and engage as a member of the Plant Leadership Team.
- Comply with GMP, regulatory, and ISO guidelines, including company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as required to support business needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics/Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or Engineering (MBA preferred).
- Seven years of experience in Logistics and/or Supply Chain Management.
- Management experience with people leaders, hourly production associates, and technical associates.
