About the role
The Structured Finance team at Lightsource bp is seeking a highly motivated and analytical Senior Manager to join a dynamic, high-performing team supporting substantial deal flow across the U.S. platform. This hybrid role is based in Austin, Denver, or San Francisco, and is ideal for candidates who thrive in a fast-paced, transaction-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
- Support negotiations with financing counterparties for solar and energy storage assets, including tax equity, construction debt, term debt, and other financial products.
- Perform all aspects of transaction execution, including project marketing, establishment of financing terms, investor due diligence, modeling, management of outside consultants, and closing.
- Provide guidance to other groups within Lightsource bp on structuring project issues related to financing.
- Review models on behalf of the origination group for soundness of assumptions, modeling, and results.
- Prepare investment committee presentations at key milestones in the project lifecycle, including term sheet execution and financial close.
- Work with junior staff to maintain and refine the company’s financial model suite through continuous improvement.
- Closely follow industry trends and competitors, including deal flow and transactions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Requirements
- 4–6 years of project finance experience in a transactional role, preferably with a renewable energy development company, financial advisor, investment bank, or similar organization performing detailed financial analyses.
- Tangible experience supporting or running project finance transactions in the energy or infrastructure space, ideally with exposure to live tax equity and tax credit transactions.
- Bachelor’s degree, ideally in a quantitative field; MBA or CFA preferred.
Skills
- Outstanding financial modeling skills and fluency in Excel-based analyses; a modeling assessment will be part of the interview process.
- Detailed knowledge of key commercial and legal deal points for construction financing, term financing, tax equity, and tax credit transfer transactions.
- Demonstrated interest in and understanding of U.S. power markets.
- Fluency in Excel-based financial models; knowledge of VBA is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and a high standard of work.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to work across multiple cross-functional stakeholders on tight timelines.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing and competing priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to assess issues, generate a plan of action, and communicate with stakeholders to build consensus.
- Comfortable working in a hybrid office environment and maintaining strong collaboration across locations.

- Base salary: $160,000 to $180,000 annually.
