Senior Manager, Staff Counsel - Hackensack, NJ

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple Staff Counsel office activities involving lawsuits for the company
• Interview and approve job applicants and conduct performance reviews
• Initiate salary adjustments and personnel changes as needed
• Represent the company and insureds in court for UM/UIM and liability cases
• Conduct legal research and prepare briefs, opinions, and memoranda
• Train and supervise less experienced attorneys, observing their trial and arbitration work
• Monitor office performance metrics and implement improvements

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree required
• Must be licensed to practice law in New Jersey
• 10+ years of litigation experience, especially in insurance defense or personal injury
• Strong background in handling complex cases with significant trial responsibility
• Management experience overseeing a team of attorneys and support staff is a must

Pay

$166,050 – $260,350 annually
