Senior Manager, Software Engineering (Authentication)

For our client, a leader in the Information Technology space, we are seeking a Senior Manager of Software Engineering (Authentication) to join their team. This role focuses on cloud-enabled scalability, reliability, and delivery excellence, working across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and long-term technology capabilities in a technology-driven environment.

Location: Remote - US-based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor engineering managers and technical leaders within the Authentication team
• Translate product and engineering strategies into actionable technical plans
• Enhance the reliability and operational health of cloud-native API systems
• Ensure predictable delivery by improving team planning and execution processes
• Elevate engineering standards across all Authentication services, including architecture and incident response
• Collaborate with various departments to align technical initiatives with product goals
• Own and track metrics for system performance and team effectiveness

Qualifications

• 8-12+ years of software engineering experience with distributed backend systems and APIs in production
• 3-5+ years of engineering leadership experience, specifically managing engineers and technical leads
• Strong technical knowledge in cloud-native architecture, microservices, CI/CD in AWS and/or GCP environments
• Proven experience in enhancing reliability and execution in high-availability, customer-facing systems
• Hands-on experience with backend technologies like Go and/or Python, along with a solid understanding of low-latency systems

Pay

$195,000 – $235,000 annually
