Senior Manager, Software Engineering

About the Role

The Senior Manager, Software Engineer will lead a team within the Consumer Product & Innovation Design Engineering group, which develops 2D and 3D tools to enable virtual digital product creation. This role involves both people management and technical leadership in a highly matrixed environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage and inspire a team of engineers, ensuring strong team communication and health.
• Lead the technical output of the team, focusing on 2D and 3D tooling for Nike’s Design domain.
• Participate in Agile software development and drive process improvements within the framework.
• Ensure best engineering practices and high-quality team output.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders and business participants.
• Develop tools for virtual production creation, visualization, and related workflows.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in people management, supervision, or team leadership.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field (or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training).
• 7+ years of experience in technology and software engineering roles.
• 7+ years of software development experience in languages such as Python, C++, Java, or JavaScript.
• Extensive expertise in computer graphics.
• Experience with 3D tools (e.g., Adobe Substance 3D, Blender, Unreal, Unity), visualization, or game development.
• Experience developing tools for artists or creators.
• Experience working in cross-functional domains.
• Experience with CI/CD software deployment processes.
• Strong collaboration skills in team-oriented roles.
