Senior Manager, Senior Counsel - Capital One Travel Product Counsel (Hybrid)

Responsibilities

• Identify and assess legal risks associated with the travel industry and with Capital One’s offering of travel services as part of Capital One Travel
• Know your business in depth so you can translate and apply laws and legal requirements for the business teams and the business intent for the legal team and legal subject matter experts
• Actively engage with colleagues to provide legal support as part of a collaborative and cross-functional team
• Work with PPX, Card, Brand, the Business Risk Office, Corporate Communications, and Compliance stakeholders to address risks, develop creative solutions, and resolve issues

Requirements

• Strong legal and business analytical skills
• Written and oral communication skills
• The ability to efficiently and effectively organize thoughts on legal risk, focusing on what matters in driving business initiatives forward responsibly

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as an attorney in a law firm environment, at a government agency, as a military judge advocate, or as in-house counsel
• Experience involving the travel or fintech industries, or consumer regulatory/consumer financial services
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment and flexibility to adapt to changing needs
• Ability to build collegial and effective relationships with attorneys, business managers, creative teams, analysts, project managers, and corporate compliance professionals, and work cooperatively to resolve issues smoothly
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence others

Pay

Salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting.

• Mclean, VA: $200,700 - $229,100 for Sr. Manager, Sr. Counsel
• Richmond, VA: $182,500 - $208,300 for Sr. Manager, Sr. Counsel
• Riverwoods, IL: $182,500 - $208,300 for Sr. Manager, Sr. Counsel
