Senior Manager, Security Engineering and Operations
About the role
For our client, we are seeking a Senior Manager, Security Engineering and Operations to join the team of a leader in the Pharmaceuticals & Biotech space. This role will guide the security engineering and operations function, with a focus on strengthening the organization’s cyber defenses across cloud, network, email, and identity environments. The ideal candidate will partner closely with IT and business stakeholders to evaluate threats, implement countermeasures, and improve security posture across the technology stack. This position also involves mentoring the security team, advancing operational maturity, and advising on the integration of new security technologies. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available.
Pay
Compensation: $146,400 – $219,600 annually
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement security measures for the organization’s information security stack
- Maintain documentation for engineering and operational processes
- Mentor Security Engineering and Operations teams
- Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders on security initiatives
- Oversee the deployment and upgrades of security technologies
- Assess and evaluate cyber threats and vulnerabilities
- Monitor external sources for emerging threats and assist IT teams in implementing countermeasures
- Continuously improve security posture across all technology stacks
- Act as an advisor for integrating new security technologies
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in security operations and incident response
- Strong experience with SIEM platforms such as Splunk or Gurucul
- Expertise in developing and maintaining SIEM infrastructure and data ingestion
- Experience in security incident investigations and forensic analysis
- Familiarity with common attack techniques and frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK
- Hands-on expertise in cloud security, IAM, network security, and email security
- Knowledge of EDR tools such as CrowdStrike and experience with AWS and Google Cloud Platform
