Senior Manager Retirement Consultation – LMN

About the role
This position includes an on-site work component at Empower's corporate headquarters in Greenwood Village, Colorado. The Senior Manager Retirement Consultation – LMN will lead and motivate a group of Senior Retirement Consultants specialized in Large, Mega, and Not-For-Profit employer-sponsored plans. They focus on team targets, overseeing the delivery of consultative advice and guidance to plan participants regarding their plan assets, driving consultant productivity, call quality, and operational excellence.
Customer services include all services that support first dollar in to last dollar out solutions for participants – including distributions into or out of plans, saving, investing, consolidating, and investing in additional products or services based on the participant’s needs. Areas of key focus will include advice delivery, IRA, Stay In Plan, Taxable Investment, and Roll-In.
Responsibilities
- Drive high-performing, senior-level teams to achieve customer deepening goals and expert knowledge about Large Mega and Not-for-Profit plan rules, processes, and procedures.
- Develop and implement strategies to achieve business goals supporting new initiatives and products through employee adoption and execution.
- Achieve targets across asset retention, investment/retail, and plan assets.
- Manage headcount targets across segments, collaborating with other segment managers to ensure promotions and transitions meet department headcount and staffing goals; manage associate retention and satisfaction.
- Execute high retention rates across outbound campaigns intended to engage participants upon job separation; ensure opportunities are called in a timely manner and customer experience meets high-quality standards.
- Manage segment-level service level metrics, low abandoned rates, and high call quality.
- Drive adoption of new products, services, and tools across associates—creating a positive feedback loop with appropriate partners.
- Be an advocate, coach, and driver of the new Empower conversation model.
- Set and drive targets by period (activities, conversations, call quality, etc.).
- Ensure all supervisory controls are in place and regular audits are performed and documented.
- Coach, write, and deliver feedback; develop and manage performance plans.
- Field and ensure resolution of escalated issues from representatives, clients, and participants.
- Identify trends in escalated issues and proactively address them with staff.
- Act in a supervisory principle capacity approving best interest fiduciary advice and new account openings for representatives.
- Drive operational excellence by addressing and reducing errors and escalations.
- Lead and participate in individual goals, projects, and company meetings as necessary.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and professional work experience.
- FINRA Series 7, 24, and 63 registrations required within corporate-established timelines. Series 9/10 FINRA license is acceptable in lieu of the FINRA 24 license. FINRA 65/66 registrations are permissible. FINRA fingerprinting required.
- 3-5 years of relatable sales experience in the financial services industry.
- Proven success in sales management.
Skills
- 3-5 years of relatable sales experience and/or leadership.
- 2-4 years demonstrated success in financial services.
- Ability to handle stressful situations and effectively manage experienced associates and sophisticated customer concerns.
- Motivated, self-starter with the ability to master new information quickly and independently.
- In-depth understanding of IRAs, retirement investment products/services, and the qualified retirement plan environment.
- Excellent written, verbal, consulting, and presentation skills.
- Manages resources, priorities, sets goals, and objectives; develops performance expectations.
- Proficient knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and various file manipulation skills on a PC.

Pay
Base Salary Range: $100,900.00 - $142,525.00. The salary range above shows the typical minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements, and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
