Key Responsibilities

  • Manage, mentor, and align a distributed, multi-disciplinary engineering and packaging team across the U.S. and Asia.
  • Standardize remote workflows, facilitate asynchronous communication, and build a unified technical team across disparate time zones.
  • Oversee end-to-end product quality. Partner closely with sourcing, logistics, distribution centers, and customer-facing teams to identify quality trends, drive root-cause analysis, and reduce product defect rates.
  • Lead packaging and engineering standards to maximize product protection, minimize damage rates, and improve logistics efficiency across global transit lines.
  • Ensure all private brand products strictly adhere to regulatory, safety, and testing requirements, proactively preparing the supply chain and vendors for upcoming legislative changes.
  • Set the long-term vision for private brand product engineering. Adapt reporting frameworks and define performance KPIs that align with evolving business priorities.
  • Partner with merchandising, global sourcing, and compliance leadership to support product development, cost-efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education & Core Experience:
    • Education: Bachelor’s Degree required (Engineering, Supply Chain, or technical field preferred).
    • Experience: 7+ years in product engineering, quality assurance, or regulatory compliance—specifically within private brand, retail, or global sourcing environments.
    • Leadership: 3+ years in a direct managerial/leadership role.
  • Remote & Global Leadership Requirements:
    • Distributed Team Management: Proven track record of directly managing highly remote teams, including stateside remote employees and Asia-based engineering/vendor partners.
    • Time Zone & Cultural Fluency: Demonstrated ability to manage workflows, schedule collaboration, and maintain operational alignment across significant time-zone differences.
    • Global Supply Chain Experience: Direct experience partnering with international factories, domestic distribution centers, and distributed quality inspection teams.
    • Program Scaling: Experience scaling remote quality programs, including remote supplier qualification and localized factory audit programs.
  • Data & Analytics:
    • Technical Skills: Strong capabilities with data visualization and query tools (Power BI, Tableau, Snowflake, and working knowledge of SQL) to manage team performance metrics and quality reporting.
  • Quality Methodologies:
    • Technical Skills: Expert knowledge of root cause analysis, corrective actions (CAPA), and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Technical Standards:
    • Technical Skills: Deep familiarity with global packaging standards, product safety protocols, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
