Senior Manager, Platform Security

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and technical leadership, architecting and implementing security solutions alongside engineers
• Align team strategy with business needs and collaborate with internal partners and security leadership
• Develop hiring plans and provide hands-on technical mentorship to enable team success
• Establish a Platform Security roadmap to enhance capabilities and reduce manual tasks through automation
• Act as a senior technical escalation point for architecture and engineering challenges
• Cultivate trust-centric relationships with partner teams to co-create effective security outcomes
• Lead the development of security policies, procedures, and standards for compliance and functional success
• Set program KPIs to measure success related to business security objectives

Qualifications

• 5+ years of leadership experience in cloud-native engineering/security teams, ideally within AWS-focused firms
• 10+ years of technical experience in Platform Engineering or Security, with recent hands-on coding/IaC skills
• Strong proficiency in AWS, EKS (Kubernetes), IAM, Terraform, and GitHub Enterprise Cloud
• Experience with industry security frameworks to advance the overall security program
• Demonstrated success scaling and hiring for a technical team
• Experience leading through organizational change in tech-oriented startups
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical stakeholders and translate needs into actionable outcomes
• Pragmatic approach to security requirements, prioritizing business needs over strict 'best practices'
