About the Role

ECG’s Imaging Practice partners with healthcare organizations to develop and execute strategies that enhance imaging operations, expand patient access, optimize technology utilization, and improve financial outcomes. Working with Siemens Healthineers, we help clients address challenges related to workforce shortages, evolving reimbursement models, equipment planning, and operational efficiency across MRI, CT, ultrasound, mammography, and nuclear medicine.

As a Senior Manager or Associate Principal, you will guide complex engagements, shape client strategy, and contribute to the firm’s growth. Senior Managers focus on leading large portions of engagements and advancing team execution, while Associate Principals bring broader strategic influence, trusted-adviser presence, and responsibility for relationship development and market growth.

Responsibilities

  • Client Service and Project Leadership
    • Lead significant components of complex client engagements, ensuring accurate, insightful, and actionable deliverables.
    • Integrate quantitative and qualitative analyses across multiple data sources to generate evidence-based insights.
    • Facilitate strategic, sensitive, or politically complex discussions with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
    • Anticipate and manage project risks, competing priorities, and organizational dynamics.
    • Lead or support change management efforts and help clients navigate ambiguity.
  • Analytical and Strategic Leadership
    • Design and oversee advanced analytical models, frameworks, and methodologies.
    • Diagnose root causes of complex, systemic issues and guide teams through structured problem-solving.
    • Synthesize findings into clear, high-impact insights that inform strategic decision-making.
    • Ensure analytical rigor, relevance, and consistency across project teams.
  • Leadership and People Development
    • Coach, mentor, and develop talent at multiple levels through regular feedback and sponsorship.
    • Foster high-performing, inclusive teams built on trust, accountability, and learning.
    • Model self-awareness, situational judgment, and adaptive leadership in high-stakes environments.
    • Support talent identification, development planning, and internal advancement.
  • Communication and Executive Presence
    • Lead high-impact communication with internal teams and client stakeholders.
    • Present complex analyses and recommendations clearly and confidently to senior leaders and executives.
    • Adjust message, tone, and framing in real time to drive alignment and decision-making.
    • Bring cross-client insights and experience to elevate strategic dialogue.
  • Strategic Thinking and Problem-Solving
    • Identify systemic strategic, operational, and performance challenges affecting healthcare organizations.
    • Apply advanced problem-solving methods to shape practical, client-ready solutions.
    • Anticipate long-term risks and opportunities and guide mitigation strategies.
    • Continuously refine tools, approaches, and processes to improve engagement effectiveness.
  • Business Development and Firm Contribution
    • Identify and pursue opportunities to expand client relationships and service offerings.
    • Contribute to proposal development, pitches, and strategic pursuits.
    • Help manage portfolios of client relationships that lead to repeat and expanded work.
    • Support or lead initiatives that strengthen ECG’s market presence and internal capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in business administration and/or a health-related field preferred.
  • Senior Manager: Typically 8+ years of experience in healthcare consulting, healthcare operations, or analytics.
  • Associate Principal: Typically 10+ years of experience in healthcare consulting, operations, or analytics.
  • 7 or more years of progressive leadership, consulting, and/or health system management experience in radiology and imaging services, including strategic planning, service line development, operational transformation, physician alignment, and financial performance improvement.
  • Demonstrated expertise in imaging operations optimization, with deep knowledge of radiology best practices, imaging technologies, major modalities (MRI, CT, Ultrasound, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, and Interventional Radiology), subspecialty radiology services, and emerging care delivery models.
  • Previous healthcare consulting experience serving hospitals, health systems, academic medical centers, physician groups, or imaging organizations, with a demonstrated ability to lead client engagements, develop executive-level recommendations, manage stakeholder relationships, and drive implementation of strategic and operational initiatives.
  • Experience leading imaging, radiology, or related clinical service lines within a health system environment, including oversight of multiple departments, sites of care, and/or hospitals, with responsibility for operational, financial, quality, and workforce performance.
  • Experience advising or partnering with academic medical centers (AMCs), faculty practice plans, and large integrated health systems to address complex radiology and imaging strategy, operational, organizational, and growth challenges preferred.
  • Proven ability to establish credibility and serve as a trusted advisor to radiology department chairs, chiefs, division leaders, physician stakeholders, service line executives, and administrative leaders, influencing strategic decision-making and driving organizational change.
  • Strong understanding of radiology and imaging economics, including physician compensation models, productivity measurement, workforce planning, capital investment evaluation, equipment utilization, access management, and imaging service line financial performance.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional initiatives involving physicians, operations leaders, and executive stakeholders across multi-site organizations while delivering measurable improvements in quality, access, patient experience, and financial outcomes.
  • Exceptional relationship-building, communication, and executive presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with C-suite leaders, physician executives, and operational teams to advance strategic priorities and achieve results.
  • Proven ability to lead complex engagements, influence senior clients, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Advanced analytical, communication, and executive presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated experience contributing to or leading business development efforts.
  • Strong judgment and ability to operate effectively in dynamic, ambiguous environments.
  • Ability to thrive in a hybrid consulting environment and travel as needed.

Schedule

Full time/exempt. Hybrid work schedule, with a minimum of two days per week in office when not traveling for a client engagement.

Pay

The estimated base salary range for this job is $205,000.00 - $260,000.00 annually. The actual salary paid will vary based on factors including years of experience, special skills, and market changes. This job is eligible to participate in ECG’s annual incentive compensation program, reflecting a pay-for-performance philosophy.
