Responsibilities

  • Lead all preconstruction services and manage all planning, budgeting, scheduling and risk management activities before construction projects begin across the portfolio.
  • Provide strategic direction for the development of conceptual, schematic and final cost estimates and schedules ensuring consistency, accuracy, and alignment with project objectives.
  • Establish department strategies for value engineering, historical databases, and establish measurable key performance indicators to drive team and project effectiveness.
  • Guide and direct resolution of project difficulties and complex project control issues, such as scope challenges, budgeting constraints and schedule impacts.
  • Lead collaboration with Project Management, Design, Sourcing, Construction Management, Walt Disney Imagineering, and vendor/contractor partners to ensure strong cross-functional alignment, clear communication, and successful delivery of project controls services in alignment with project scope, safety expectations, and quality standards.
  • Ensure team identifies, evaluates, and communicates design changes, scope changes, schedule slippages, and potential impacts and participate in the identification of mitigations.
  • Ensure trends of cost and schedule are identified, in support of change management process and communicate and suggest corrective actions.
  • Oversee project baseline process for cost, schedule and progress and ensure all project systems are implemented according to process and Disney standards and procedures.
  • Establish risk management protocol which includes identification, documentation, mitigation and tracking of potential risks on the project. Determine potential cost and schedule/progress impacts of potential risks as they are identified.
  • Ensure the accuracy of reported progress percentage based on the rules of credit established within the project. Develop progress measurement process for required scopes of work.
  • Lead teams responsible for project schedule development, review, maintenance and updates to ensure accuracy and alignment with the overall master schedule objectives and portfolio priorities.
  • Manage and ensure all project required reporting is prepared and submitted as per approved reporting schedule for the project.
  • Mentor and lead a large staff of project controls (scheduling/estimating) cast members, ensuring project is staffed appropriately, conduct regular staff performance reviews and manage any staffing issues that may arise.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in a leadership role in project controls
  • 12+ years of experience in Construction Management
  • Strong understanding of all aspects regarding construction
  • Leadership ability and strong management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Able to multi-task in a high paced project environment
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning systems, Primavera, estimating software, and PMWeb is preferred
  • Experience with cost control including project estimating, forecasting and cost management including reporting
  • Strong understanding of Primavera and with overall planning process and best practice on capital infrastructure projects

Pay

The hiring range for this position in Florida is $145,900.00-$195,600.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
