Summary
Mortenson is seeking a Senior Manager of Lean responsible for creating a culture of inclusion and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Establish company-wide standards for the Lean approach (Flow Construction or Kaizen)
- Maintain consistency and effectiveness of the approach by assessing and improving
- Develop and coach HQ Lean and Group resources to support and execute the approach effectively
- Engage Group Leaders and other Group resources, personally and through direct reports, to plan and execute the Lean approach effectively
- Support Groups to measure, capture, and sustain improvements, celebrate teams, and update baseline performance for future work expectations
- Provide significant input to the annual business plan for the Lean approach, including enhancements and guidance on strategy for different levels of support and activity across Groups and projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Construction Management, Industrial Engineering or a related degree OR equivalent combination of education and technical/field experience demonstrated over multiple years of related work experience
- Minimum of fifteen years construction or manufacturing experience
- Minimum of ten years experience in a continuous improvement or other operational functional role (e.g. Quality, Safety, Planning, Process Excellence)
- Experience facilitating lean activities (Kaizen Events, Improvement Initiatives, Takt Planning)
- Expert understanding of continuous improvement tools and practices (Kaizen, Lean, Takt Planning)
- Humble learner with curiosity and optimism
- Proactive self-starter with growth mindset
- Excellent reliability and follow-through
- Strong ability to coach and mentor leaders and professionals
- Ability to travel up to 50% within the continental U.S.

Pay and Schedule
The base pay range for this role is $144,900 MIN - $127,400 MAX. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%).
