About the role

The Senior Manager of Decision Support will oversee the Decision Support system, lead the design and implementation of the Medical Group cost model, and support the development of new program plans and business lines.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Decision Support system, ensuring timely and accurate profitability data is available for routine reporting and project tracking.
  • Lead the design, implementation, and oversight of the Medical Group cost model, facilitating accuracy and building key profitability outputs for entity and health system perspectives on patient care.
  • Work with the Financial Planning team to understand analytics needed to understand drivers of monthly performance; perform analysis and create materials for inclusion in Operating Leadership and Finance Committee materials.
  • Support long-term planning of services through collaboration with the Medical Group, operations, and facilities.
  • Interface with all levels of staff across BMC to develop consistent and accurate analysis and business proposals using data-driven solutions and proactive planning.
  • Assist in developing robust hospital service line analytics and benchmarks, training and mentoring junior staff, and developing best practices for the department.
  • Support the development of new program plans, business lines, and services; coordinate with BMC’s Strategy Team on the utilization of profitability data and other financial information within business plans.
  • Oversee external filings for business proposals as needed, including Determination of Need and Request for Proposals on behalf of BMC.
  • Establish and maintain documentation for business plan approval, including dependencies on other shared services, such as IT, and within the structure of capital approval.

Requirements

  • Educational requirements: Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s degree in Business (Finance, Accounting, Economics), Public Health, Public Administration or Health Administration preferred.
  • Experience: 7+ years of healthcare managerial or consulting experience or other related field. Experience working with healthcare reimbursement and cost accounting required. Revenue modeling and business intelligence software preferred. Prior supervisory experience required.

  • Superior project management skills: ability to oversee other colleagues that manage projects.

  • Willingness to accept new responsibilities as needed to support the organization.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to operate independently with good judgment and at times with minimal supervision.
  • Proven ability to interface with senior leaders as well as assume a leadership role within projects; ability to work with varying levels and roles of management and professionals including physicians.
  • Superior analytic and problem-solving skills with a high value in data integrity and analytic accuracy.

Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary range of $97,500.00 - $141,500.00, along with a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, pharmacy, 403(b) savings matches, paid time off, career advancement opportunities, and resources to support employee and family well-being.
