About the role
The AWS Data Center Design Engineering team is seeking a Senior Data Center Infrastructure Engineering (DCIE) Manager to lead design and implementation efforts across the U.S. Eastern Region. The role involves collaborating with AWS leadership, internal stakeholders, and external partners to ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Leading DC Infrastructure Engineering Design in AMER, establishing design requirements for owned and leased facilities.
- Conceiving, initiating, and leading projects with wide-ranging impacts on infrastructure design, innovation, and implementation.
- Setting standards for engineering, testing, and best practices, driving process improvements throughout the organization.
- Decomposing complex problems into actionable solutions.
- Leading the team and collaborating with internal and external teams supporting AWS data centers.
- Serving as a technical advisor for AWS datacenter architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, or constructability designs.
- Working with internal teams to understand new rack cooling power and space requirements.
- Collaborating with local agencies and certification agencies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and municipal requirements and building codes.
Qualifications
- Experience managing teams of 20 or more people.
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical, Mechanical, Structural Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of data center design, HVAC design, or related product development experience.
