About the role
The Senior Manager of Corporate Quality will be responsible for the Company’s total quality strategy and execution, including quality processes and procedures within each department as a cross-functional integrated strategy encompassing Quality Assurance Systems, Certifications, Process and Procedures, and Product Reliability from design through the commercial transaction phase. This position will interface with core customers, suppliers, and partners for improvement strategy implementation, problem solving, and issue resolution.
Responsibilities
- Act as Quality Champion focused on driving a culture of Prevention vs. Reaction philosophy.
- Serve as the single point of ownership and delegation for strategic implementation of corporate quality systems within plants and departments.
- Drive commonality and consistency across all plants, ensuring quality standards are met end-to-end from new product design through post-sales product support.
- Implement new ERP modules for quality and related functions as needed.
- Drive lean and continuous improvement initiatives across multiple U.S. plants and locations.
- Improve work methods and operating procedures.
- Assure quality processes and strategies are followed by key organizational leaders including design engineering, manufacturing engineering, operations, sourcing, supply chain, customer service, and sales.
- Develop and track key metrics to drive common measurement across plants.
- Identify and implement quality improvement projects.
- Ensure proper technologies and platforms are in place or recommended for implementation.
- Own the compliance platform and assurance for standards set by AMMA and other industry market and product specifiers.
- Support sourcing and supply chain through QA inspection processes and procedures, supplier performance reporting and management tools, sourcing and qualification process management, and international QA engineering insource or outsource implementation.
- Act as the proactive first point of contact for customer issues.
- Improve and assure documented procedures.
- Provide leadership and participation in value-added value engineering initiatives.
- Provide leadership to the quality team.
Qualifications
- Proven ability to drive a Quality strategy and vision across a multi-site organization.
- Experience implementing ERP systems including quality modules and other related modules.
- Proven experience driving lean manufacturing practices across multiple plants.
- Management experience with a team of Quality Engineers and Technicians.
- Certification (CQE, Black Belt) a plus.
- ISO and/or Six Sigma implementation experience a plus.
- Experience with test and measurement equipment and processes.
- Strong SPC, Process Capability, GD&T, and Metrology skills desired.
- Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to influence all audiences within the organization.
Educational & Certification
- 5–10 years of progressive quality engineering/quality systems management experience in a mechanical-focused manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline or technical field.
