About the role
Partner with operations, engineering, HSE/OE, and commercial teams to identify, assess and mitigate material operational risks, ensuring that critical controls are effective and that residual exposures are appropriately managed through risk mitigation or insurance strategies aligned with the Group’s risk appetite.
Responsibilities
- Contributes to managing major hazard risks across Dyno Nobel’s global operations
- Supports the identification of critical controls and strengthening operational risk governance in high-hazard environments
- Provides subject-matter expertise in operational risk management analysis
- Supports management in improving risk governance, reducing loss exposure and enhancing the quality of risk insights provided to senior leadership
- Evaluates operational risk exposures and loss scenarios from an insurable risk perspective, supporting decisions on risk mitigation, retention
- Supports the development and maintenance of risk registers, risk dashboards and risk reporting
- Supports the verification of control effectiveness and continuous improvement of risk mitigation practices
- Develops and supports risk dashboards, analysis, and reporting to support monitoring of material and operational risk trends across global operations
- Pairs with operational and functional leadership to strengthen the management of material risks
- Pairs with business units and functions to embed risk thinking into operational planning, project evaluation and strategic initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, manufacturing risk management or a related discipline
- Engineering or technical degrees are strongly preferred
- Postgraduate qualifications in risk management, engineering, business or a related field are advantageous
- Professional certifications in risk management or related disciplines (e.g., ERM, ARM, IRM or similar) are desirable
- 10+ years of experience in operational risk management, enterprise risk management, or process and operational safety risk management within complex industrial settings
- Experience in manufacturing, chemicals, mining, energy or other high-hazard sectors is strongly preferred
- Experience with structured risk management methodologies, including risk identification, risk assessment, control evaluation and mitigation
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in engineering, science, manufacturing risk management or a related discipline
- Master’s degree in risk management, engineering, business or a related field is advantageous
- Professional certifications in risk management or related disciplines (e.g., ERM, ARM, IRM or similar) are desirable
